NOVEMBER 2005ANNUAL MEETING

The annual meeting was held this year on November 5 at Marina Jack Restaurant in Sarasota.  Before the meeting started we actually had ample time for the infamous fabric swap. It was a neat experience for me being a “newbie.”  What treasures could be found for next to nothing.  Louise Landry in particular had some wonderful wool purchased in Ireland in the swap.  It all was so tempting it was hard to decide which fabric to choose.

The annual meeting consisted of the election of officers for the new year.  Everyone seemed willing and eager to start and/or continue her new assignments with ASG.  We have a great board that will do their utmost to help our chapter be the BEST, have the greatest education and the most interesting neighborhood groups.

After the meeting Marina Jack provided a wonderful meal and an awesome dessert to top off the festivities.  It was so nice to get together with everyone in attendance to talk about plans for the holidays, their next projects, and what they are going to do with their fabric treasures from the swap.

The fashion show after the luncheon was really lovely.   We had lots of beautiful outfits and very talented people showing off their skills.  One in particular was a beautiful plus size gold Japanese outfit made by Barbara Berrie (Marie Gartley’s granddaughter).  She is attending fashion design school and starting her own wedding dress designing business.  She surely proved she has her grandmother’s talent as well.  Her outfit was stunning!

Everyone seemed to have a great relaxing time and we all look forward to the annual meeting festivities next year..
