A NOTE FROM THE PRESIDENT
May/June 2010
Hope everyone is having a wonderful spring! Our Spring Fling event was a success! It is always nice to have time to share with each other in a relaxed not rushed atmosphere. Congratulations to Diane Kestner, our WINNER of “I Am Teddi”. Diane is a member of our chapter & belongs to Anything Sews Neighborhood Group. Thanks to all who came and enjoyed the event! Check out the articles and pictures on pages 4, 5 & 12.
I represented our Chapter at the ASG Region 7 Meeting in Columbia, SC on March 19-20. There were over 50 presidents & cab members from other chapters. We shared our successes and concerns. I look forward to sharing the many ideas with our CAB, as we make our chapter the best ever!
I know there are 24 ladies from our chapter getting ready to sew & sew & sew April 28-May 2. No phones, no dinners to prepare! Just sew-sewsew! I wonder if they sew in their sleep?! I hope to find out! Yes these ladies are attending our 2nd Annual Retreat! And what do ASG members do on a retreat but SEW! (And probably eat chocolate.) If you were not able to attend this year - try to plan for next year! We will have more details & pictures in the next newsletter!
Helaine Eckstein is preparing for our 2nd 4-H Sewing Day Camp on June 14 & 17. If you have time & can help out - please contact Helaine or myself. This was a rewarding
experience last year for all those that helped. We would love to have you come & join us, whether it is all 4 days or partial days or just 1 day!
Luncheon, will be held on Sat, July 3, from noon to 3 pm. Bring your items you have made for our local soldiers, along with a dish to share. This is a great way to show our Military men & women how much we appreciate them! There is no charge for this event! Just bring a dish to share! (See the details inside.)
How many of you have attended one of ASG’s e-classes? They have been informative, and it is interesting to hear what other members across our country are doing. The format is similar to that of a neighborhood group meeting including Sew & Tell!. The next e-class is scheduled for Tues. April 20 at 7 pm. For more info or to register, go to Embroidery.com.
I look forward to seeing each of you at the neighborhood group meetings and the upcoming events!
Until then,
Happy Creating & Sewing!
